After some initial research we were devastated by Jada's diagnosis. Most insurance companies will not pay for treatment. Our insurance company is one who chooses not to provide treatment help for Lyme Patients, beyond 10 days of antibiotics. In fact many companies will cancel your plan if you are being treated for Chronic Lyme Disease. Researchers and LLMD's (Lyme Literate Medical Doctors) are very adamant that this is not enough, if a patient is not treated with in a day or two of the tick bite, they are sure to have Chronic Lyme Disease, requiring months and in many cases years of intensive (usually antibiotic) therapy. Therefore, as of now almost all of Jada's medical costs are an out of pocket expense, she has Chronic Lyme Disease. Jada is a wonderful, irreplaceable part of a our family. Her 6 siblings and parents love her dearly.
Jada takes a total of 10 different medications, we rotate for her tummy's sake each day. This includes: antibiotics, antivirals, vitamins, minerals, dietary supplements, probiotics, digestive enzymes, colostrum, green powders, immune boosters, and natural blood cleansers.
Jada also does several alternative therapies a month to help detox and stimulate her system, to give her body the power it needs to find and fight the Lyme. These include infrared sauna treatments, ozone sauna treatments, lymphatic massage, and acupuncture, as funds allow. Niether of her insurances cover any portion of these much needed therapies. Everything our little warrior is doing, is helping. We have recently found an LLND (Lyme Literate Naturopathic Doctor) willing to treat Jada, despite her age. We must travel 400 miles each way to see this doctor! Her regular physician is wonderful at helping over-see treatment. We are super excited to be working with such a great team of doctors for Jada's treatment!
Yet, we are in desperate need of financial help in order to continue these treatments, and bring Jada's body back into wellness.
The costs of Jada's treatments:
Medications/Supplements~ $175.00/ monthly average
Sauna/Acupuncture/Alternative Treatments~ $120.00/ monthly average
LLND visits~ $403.00 Quarterly
Blood work Not covered by Insurance~ $1050.00 Quarterly
Trips to see LLND~ $550.00 Quarterly
Yearly Out-of-Pocket Expense~ $10,632.00
Average not including antibiotics which can run several hundred dollars monthly.
Due to the Out-of-Pocket costs associated with Jada's treatment we will be doing several fundraisers. These will include fundraising projects at a local level as well as tee-shirt and hoodie sweatshirt sales with Jada's Logo on them. You can find apparel on the "Web Store" tab now!
